Jaffna - Colombo direct train service will not be available till August 2024.
In this year 2024, a Passenger Ferry is operating between Kankesanthurai (Jaffna) and Nagapattinam (India).

In the recent time passengers traveling on train steps or hanging out on steps had been either killed or injured seriously by hitting posts and tunnel stones. Colombo International airport, Mattala International Airport and Jaffna International Airport are operating as usual. Don't have Tattoos on your body that consists of Buddha's images. Also don't bring or wear clothes with the Buddha's image. Specially Indian women are caught here for wearing sarees with Buddha's face. This is a punishable offence according to Sri Lanka law.
