Nuwara Eliya Visit.

Nuwara Eliya visit is one of the best things to do while you are in Sri Lanka on your Holidays. This is one of the coolest places in Sri Lanka located in the mountainous up country region. It is a land for tea growing and tea production along with full of vegetable farm lands. People used to call it as "Little England" for its climate and type of British era buildings still it posses. This is one of the top tour destinations in  this country. Lot of hotels is available here along with holiday homes, Bungalows, Hostels and camping sites. Nuwera Eliya used to celebrate its Holiday season during the month of April. In April lot of locals used to come and stay here to escape the heat wave season among the low lands and coastal areas. During this season horse racing (Nuwara Eliya Racecourse), Golf tournaments (Nuwara Eliya Golf Club), flower exhibition, pony races, go cart races and auto rally used to take place here.

Don't miss to visit the local post office which is still looking with its charming look as an English post office. Nuwara Eliya offers trekking, jogging and walking for the visiting guests. Don't miss the fun activities around the Gregory lake area. Lake Gregory lake offers you boat ride, speed jet ride and on the banks you can get pony rides too. In addition, visit nearby Tea Estates to view in their factory and to observe how they make those green leaves in to aromatic dark tea.

Nuwara Eliya Summer Festival 2024.

Nuwara Eliya Summer Festival 2024 is on going from 01st of April, 2024. The celebrations will last for a month here. Lot of fun filled activities and exciting sports events too are going to take place in this season. Large number of people is visiting Nuwara Eliya to escape from burning sun in other parts of Sri Lanka. Many tour operators are bringing lot of foreign tourist over there during the festival days.. This is not like Rio de Janeiro Carnival but is cool and peaceful events filled one. So now prepare yourself to visit there for the festival.

In addition Sri Lanka Sinhala and Tamil New year festival is taking place on 13th and 14 April 2024. There will be lot of Poojas and celebrations will be performed today and tomorrow.
Take note there will not be much accomodation available to accomodate all the visiting guests. Meals and vehicle parking too may in short.

As per Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council announcement,
Opening Ceremony, Horse Race,  Mahagastota Speed Hill Climb, Tennis Tournament, Softball Tournament, Carnival, Super Moto, Sports Meet, Flower Show, Badminton Championship, Table Tennis and Parades are expected to take place.
